Hang In There.

What's up family. I'm sure I've "Godded" (Yes I made that up) y'all to death this point and y'all are ready to read about something else. Or maybe you aren't. Which is good. But today I will be talking about something different. Hopefully you aren't pissed (You probably aren't). I've probably made several grammar errors since I've began typing this paragraph but who cares? This a blog lol.  This stage of being a young, black, christian male is so difficult. This past semester I've felt an overarching pressure that's been straining but I know it's only preparing me for where I'm going. I've had to balance 19 credit hours, an internship, regular job(Z), leading organization(Z), being the only person who has the courage to tell a person that they have everyone else MESSED UP, being broke, paying rent, being broke again, and being the first in your family to graduate from college, all while not knowing what the hell I...

ESCAPE!

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CLYdYpfHxud/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link AHT! Click the link!  This message from Tabitha Brown yesterday came right in time for this post. Tabitha talks about how her love for God is the "unpopular opinion." She speaks on how multiple people messaged her saying that she "talks about God too much", and even suggests that doing so wouldn't be "good for her image." She continues with how this has affected her, but reassures her audience that her open love for God won't change.  For years I felt that I was in a box. I've always had a passionate love for God and didn't feel comfortable sharing that love with the world. As I grew older and received the courage to do so, I experienced some of the same criticisms that Tabitha faced. On top of that, very few people at the age of 20, especially in current times, feel that God is popular.  As much support as I've received from being so open about my faith, I've als...

Hello again.

I'm also corny lol Since I was young, I've always felt I've had a connection with God. I remember seeing the older kids cry in church while the pastor preached. I couldn't understand why they cried, but I knew it was an experience that I wanted to share.  As I grew older, specifically within the past few years of college, I've became more open about my Christianity. I enjoy reading my Bible and sharing what I've learned with others who are willing to listen.  God has been so active in my life. I literally would not be the man I am today if it wasn't for Him. He's helped me overcome depression, learn to love myself, and be the man He's called me to be. In a current society that deeply encourages people to be their true and authentic selves, say whatever they want on Twitter, and share opinions, I quickly found out that Christianity was the "unpopular opinion." That's a Twitter reference lol.... I want to give this topic the attention it ...

Hello, I'm Charlie.

It's 11:43pm and before I began writing I had this grandiose idea of what this blog would look like.  I'm just going to get to the point. It's hard being young... a black male... and CHRISTIAN in today's society, and in case you haven't noticed, I happen to be all three.  My name is Charles Q. Myers and I'm a 22 year old who's passionate about being a great man of God, loving my family, and motivating others to reach their fullest potential. A catch right? I would've been the first black bachelor but I've already met my future wife at Bradley and I guess Matt James has already done that. (I'm sarcastic)  This is her  Anyways. From a young age, I knew God placed me on this earth to serve a purpose bigger than myself.  That purpose is to help others. We live in a society that makes it impossible for people to be their true selves. I know you're probably thinking, "Are you kidding me? It's the complete opposite." But in reality, wh...
